*Feature* Matt Goodall at long dog art

I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Matt Goodall and his beautiful family recently.

At his session I learned that Matt is a fellow artist, comic enthusiast and we both attended/worked Phoenix Comicon.  :)  Shortly after his session I checked out his work and discovered he is an amazing watercolor and comic book artist!  And he offers custom hand painted portraits!!!  I inquired about having a watercolor portrait done of my son.  I adore watercolor and thought it would be a lovely piece to hang on the wall.  Below is the image I provided to Matt and his amazing painting.

I love this painting so much that I wanted to share Matt's work.  He is available to do original commissioned drawings and paintings.  If you are looking for a unique special gift for someone for the holidays , look no further!  This would be perfect!!!  Also a great gift for an anniversary, birthday or Valentine's Day gift! ;)

A little bit about Matt Goodall, the artist behind this painting of my son:

Matt
works in traditional mediums as well as dabbling in computer graphics.  He received his BFA from Central Michigan University and is the artist and co creator of Sonic Youth, a superhero comedy that features a humorous look at parenthood and the suburban lifestyle for Spazdog Press.  In November 2011 Matt supplied the pencils for the story Shoplifters of the World Unite, which again paired him with Sonic Youth writer and Spazdog Press founder Shawn Demumbrum and also with Jason Pederson's inks.  The story appears in the compilation Unite and Take Over: Stories Inspired by the Songs of the Smith's.  Matt will also be supplying all of the art for the story Oscillate Wildly, written by Chris Murrin and Andy Jewett, which will appear in Unite and Take Over volume II released in 2012.

You can view more of Matt's great work on his blog, long dog art  or visit his etsy site,  millie and mason.  If you really love his work, head over to his facebook page and like it too!

Support local business this holiday season.  xo

Holiday Portraits

The busy holiday portrait and wedding season is upon us! I am close to being completely booked on the weekends through November. If you are wanting to book a holiday session, please do so immediately. Below are holiday card designs for a little inspiration. If you had a session earlier in the year, please contact me and I can custom design a card for you as well.

Many clients want to purchase digital files from their sessions. I do offer them and think it is great for my clients to share their images online and through social media. I wanted to stress how important it is to print your images. All too often images get saved on the computer or shared on Facebook and don't get displayed in your home. I put together this photo display collage to remind everyone to order prints (they make great holiday gifts! ) and to show various sizes and how they look when displayed.

In addition to custom holiday cards, digital files, prints and canvases, the studio also offers custom designed albums. Please contact me for pricing or any questions. I look forward to photographing you this upcoming holiday season! :) Don't forget to refer the studio, for every client you refer that books, you will receive $50 towards your next session.

Introducing Claire Violet. Nothing brings me greater joy than photographing newborn babies. This adorable baby girl and her mommies filled my heart with such joy and reminded me how happy and lucky I am to be doing what I love. Congratulations on the beautiful addition to your family! xo

San Diego Beach Session

Beach sessions are always fun... especially when it gives you a chance to leave Phoenix for a few days and enjoy San Diego's gorgeous weather. Not only did I get to spend a few days with family, I got to photograph them too! Here are some images from Jason and Katrina's beach session. I could photograph here all day every day!!!

K + D ♥ Downtown Phoenix Portrait Session

I wanted to photograph a styled couple session at some of my favorite locations around downtown Phoenix and here are a few of those images. :) The session turned out to be so much more than I had imagined. A huge thank you to all that helped out. I love my friends, colleagues, clients and what I do!!! Audree Lopez was the amazing stylist behind this session. She jumped on board with my vision and I could not have been happier with the results. She was so easy to work with, make sure to check her out. And another thank you to one of my favorite shops in town, smeeks, for letting us photograph part one of our session in your store. If you have not been to smeeks yet, do it now! They are one of the coolest stores in town. While you are there head over to their sister store, frances, too.

I hope you enjoyed the images, even if just half as much as I enjoyed creating them.
